Human factors or non-technical skills have been studied extensively and taught well in high risk industries like airlines and nuclear power stations. It is now recognised that healthcare is also a high risk industry and courses have been developed for healthcare environments. We are offering a 2 day course covering all the factors that can impact on the likelihood of humans making errors and consider ways in which risk can be reduced.
Learning Objectives
The course aims to help healthcare staff to recognise and address issues of team working, leadership, communication and decision making which impact on the effectiveness of their teams.
The course is run over 2 days, attendance at both days is essential, this is a very popular course and booking early is recommended.
Who Should Attend
This course is aimed at anyone working in healthcare, particularly those working in large or small teams. Clinical or managerial, primary or secondary care participants are all welcome. We aim to include a mixture of professions and specialties on each course to maximise discussion. We hope that participants will leave the sessions with ideas and plans to share with their teams which result in teams becoming safer, happier, more efficient and more reliable.
