Please note that to comply with Scottish Government advisory precautions around prevention of Covid-19, we regret that we will be unable to provide a full buffet for this event.

19:15 : Audit of referrals in Dumfries and Galloway : Dr. Fiona O’Brien, D&G GP Cancer Lead
19:40 : Scottish Breast Cancer Referral Guidelines : Miss Maria Bews-Hair, Consultant Breast and General Surgeon & Lead Cancer Clinician D&G, DGRI
20:10 : Management of Benign Breast conditions esp. mastalgia, nipple discharge and gynaecomastia : Mr. Dermot Murphy, Consultant Breast surgeon, DGRI & NHS Lanarkshire
20:35 : Patient led-follow up – an update : Carol McQuade, Clinical Nurse Specialist in Breast Cancer, DGRI

Learning Outcomes:

  1. Improve knowledge and skills in the diagnosis of breast conditions
  2. Increased confidence in prioritising / appropriate triage of referrals to secondary care
  3. Reflect on audit of referrals
  4. Increased confidence in management of benign breast conditions in primary care
  5. Better understanding of the principles behind patient-led follow up, patients that it is not suitable for and how the process has been working in Dumfries and Galloway

SEALS Approval has been gained for 2 CPD Hours.
